About Me

I grew up in Menlo Park, on the San Francisco Peninsula. I received a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and spent three years there as an HIV Peer Test Counselor. To find out about what happened in the 17 years prior to UCSC, you’ll have to get in touch with me. After graduating, I spent two years working at Willow Garage, a robotics company in the Bay Area. I began there as an inventory manager, and later became a Human-Robot Interaction research assistant, and ultimately, technical writer and communications liaison. I own approximately six robot-themed Woot! shirts.

My experiences working in HRI opened my eyes to how I might combine my psychology background with my interest in user-friendly technology.

I recently graduated from the Masters of Human-Computer Interaction program at Carnegie Mellon University.  I am particularly interested in User Research and Interaction Design, and aim to combine these two related areas in my professional life.

Whenever possible, I ski, backpack & camp, apply ChapStick, and consume chai lattes.
